    David Fagan is a commercial lawyer and was previously a partner in the largest international
    commercial law firm in Ireland. He established the employment law unit, the data privacy unit
    and the health and safety unit of that firm in Dublin. Some of the recent matters that David
    has been involved in are: • Managing multi-jurisdictional privacy projects across Europe,
    Africa, Asia and the Middle East. • Dealing with transactional privacy work, access requests,
    due diligence, Data Privacy issues and with the Data Protection Commissioners.
    • Advising on practical matters such as Privacy notices, storage issues, dealing with the DPC,
    transferring data to non EU servers, marketing restrictions and the entire range of noncontentious

    A data breach is a security incident in which sensitive, protected or confidential data is
    copied, transmitted, viewed, stolen or used by an individual unauthorized to do so. Data
    breaches may involve financial information such as credit card or bank details, personal
    health information (PHI), Personally identifiable information (PII), trade secrets of
    corporations or intellectual property. Most data breaches involve overexposed and
    vulnerable unstructured data – files, documents, and sensitive information
