Currently Chair of Biomedical Engineering and Principle Investigator of the Biomaterials Research Group at DCU, Dr. Clarkin was awarded a BSc in Material Science (2005) and a PhD in Biomaterials (2009) from the University of Limerick. His research has focused on orthopaedic and dental biomaterials, with current interests in composite-hydrogels for treatment of vascular defects.
