Laura Foley is the project manager of the European Hub for Digital Innovation in Manufacturing based in Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT). The hub works with manufacturing SME’s in the Mid-West Region, developing their digital transformation in line with Industry 4.0 technologies. Laura has been working with LIT on developing an Industry led apprenticeship in the area data integration and manufacturing ICT which aims to be Irelands first Degree in Industry 4.0.

Presentation Synopsis
The presentation is about Industry 4.0 – the next Industrial Revolution and how the move toward Industrial Internet has created a skills gap for manufacturing companies in Ireland. LIT have been working with Department of Education to develop Industry led degree level apprenticeships in order to address the skills gap.
