    Presentation Title

The potential role of rural communities in climate action with the help of LEADER funding

    Synopsis of the Talk

While there is growing awareness of the severity of climate change and its potentially devastating impacts there is little focus on the role of rural communities in climate action. Having worked with the rural communities for the last nearly for years I have gained an in-depth understanding of the structure and mindset of rural communities, businesses and individuals which inspired me to select the topic of my dissertation accordingly, investigating the perceptions and climate action potential of rural communities. (I have also delivered a lecture about my work in UCD.) After the general discussion the talk would include a brief description of the LEADER Programme, the environmental projects eligible for funding and a short showcasing of a medley of environmental projects Fingal LEADER Partnership has supported in the past.
