Ollan Herr established Herr ltd a waste water treatment business in 1992. The wasting of nutrients into aquifers, rivers and seas is becoming an increasing issue. Herr Ltd products now has a particular focus on nitrogen and phosphorus separation and recycling as a way to sustainably grow food. Ollan is also a founding member of Zero Waste Alliance Ireland. The theme of nutrient recycling and the conservation of resources is the common theme for both organizations. The community food composting systems of Zero Waste Alliance Ireland is complementary to the Herr ltd products for phosphorus recycling.
