More complex products are coming through R&D pipelines at ever increasing paces and with increasing expectations in terms of quality, personalisation and connectedness. With this increased complexity and pace of change, digital tools to capture, analyse and visualise data are vital to ensure supply chains and manufacturing are operationally ready and adaptable. Accenture research surveyed 1000 C-suite executives and found that while 99% agreed that their top goal was to leverage digital tools to help them 1) transform their core business while 2) grow new ones, only 13% are currently achieving both. This presentation will outline Accenture’s approach to this transformation imperative: Industry X.0. We will also discuss some of the unique opportunities and challenges for some of Ireland’s key manufacturing subsectors to be at the forefront of the digital revolution.
